I cannot believe we are already in week 10 of the term 1. And with the sudden approach of Easter and the school holidays, comes the realisation that I need to plan activities to keep the kiddos entertained. And with the cost of living rising, any FREE would be a bonus!
So, I jumped on google and created a list of FREE Easter school holiday activites in the Sutherland Shire.
This is what I found:
South Village
South Village in Kirrawee, are offering a range of FREE children’s entertainment during the Easter break From the 11th till the 21st of April. There is an Alien themed craft zone set up, allowing the kids to make some alien slime in the first week. Followed by some mosaic art in the second week.
They are also hosting, the all-important, Easter Egg hunt on the 6th of April between 2 – 6pm.
And don’t forget, the brickpit has that awesome outdoor park and small toddler indoor play area.
As a bonus, they are also offering $5 kid’s meals throughout the school holidays, South Village is defiantly worth a visit.

Caringbah Tradies
Caringbah Tradies are offering a range or paid and unpaid holiday activities from cupcake decorating to spending some time with a super hero!
- 12 April – Cupcake decorating class.
- 14 & 21 April – school holiday Lego workshop hosted by Bricks 4 Kids.
It is a 2-hour workshop and costs $30 per child. This includes a kid’s meal and entry to the Play Space. A favourite for my boys, and for me.
- 19 April – Join the Superhero experience between 11:30 am – 12:30 pm.
Spiderman and Wonder Woman will host a bunch of fun games. And with everyone getting balloon swords it is sure to be a riot

Kareela Village
If you haven’t been before, Kareela Village is hosting their annual Easter Fair on the 8th of April. The fair is a super fun day filled with a bunch of FREE activities like balloon twisting, face painting, glitter tattoos and kid’s crafts.
To keep your kids entertained throughout the school holiday break, they have also scheduled a few smaller activities, like bingo, painting and potion making.
Kid’s Bingo
This is an activity for children aged 5 and up There will be chances to win prizes across 5 different games. They can only host 20 children at a time, so get in quick on the day to secure your spot.
This will be hosted on:
- Wednesday 12 April – 11:30 am and 12:30 pm
- Saturday 15 April – 10 am and 11 am
- Monday 17 April – 11:30 am and 12:30 pm
- Friday 21 April – 11:30 am and 12:30 pm
Their other holiday activities run between 10 am – 2 pm:
- 13th of April – Paint a plant pot
- 14th of April – Slime making
- 19th of April – Rock painting
- 20th of April – Potion making
All their holiday activities are FREE but parental supervision is required. They run between 10 am – 2 pm but may finish early if they run out of stock. So don’t delay. I have a feeling that ‘paint a plant’ pot might also require a visit to Bunnings to purchase a flower. You can’t have a newly painted pot without a pretty flower.
All potions and perfumes will be made using essential oils. It is a great activity for them to learn the natural benefits of essential oils.
